TSLAC celebrates anniversary of women's suffrage
by TPEA | September 15, 2020
August 18, 2020 marked the 100th anniversary of the ratification of the 19th Amendment to the United States Constitution, granting women the right to vote.
To celebrate this victory of women's suffrage, the Texas State Library and Archives Commission released an exhibit: "Women’s Power, Women’s Vote," which "explores the motivations behind and evolution of this struggle. The personal collections of Texas women and government records document this history through original pamphlets, correspondence, photographs, organizational records, legislation, artifacts and audio recordings." You can view the entire exhibit here.
