The TPEA Scholarship Committee is proud to grant the 2021 TPEA Scholarship Award to Mariah Webster, vocational nurse (LVN) at the Angelina County Jail and sophomore at Tyler Junior College’s associate degree nursing program. Mariah is sponsored by her husband, Jonathan Webster, who works at Lufkin State Supported Living Center, where Mariah has also worked as an LVN. Once she graduates next year as a Registered Nurse, Mariah wants to continue her work with the state of Texas as a psychiatric nurse practitioner for Rusk State Hospital. Despite a lack of support and personal roadblocks, Mariah has pushed herself to grow in confidence and achieve her long-term goals.
