ERS Board Adopts PY 2018 Premiums for Medicare-eligible Retirees
At its Aug. 23 meeting, the ERS Board of Trustees adopted Plan Year 2018 premium rates for Medicare-eligible retirees. The State will continue covering 100 percent of the retiree’s premium and 50 percent of the spousal premium.
- Retirees participating in HealthSelect Medicare Advantage (administered by Humana) will see a 2.2 percent increase in spousal and surviving spousal premiums. (Premiums will increase by $3.48/month for spousal coverage and $6.96/month for surviving spousal coverage.)
- Retirees participating in the KelseyCare Advantage HMO plan will see a 3.2 percent increase in spousal and surviving spousal premiums. (Premiums will increase by $4.26/month for spousal coverage and $8.52/month for surviving spousal coverage.)
These new premium rates will be effective Jan. 1, 2018. Look for information from ERS in the coming weeks regarding Fall Enrollment for Medicare-eligible retirees. Fall Enrollment will take place Oct. 30–Nov. 17, with fairs occurring in eight to 10 cities across the state.
