The TPEA Board of Directors unanimously approved the proposed Legislative Agenda for the 2009 legislative session. Significant issues lay before every state employee and retiree surrounding retirement, compensation, and health benefits. However, there is no bigger issue than the need for the 13th check for retirees. Because of the significance of this issue I want to dedicate my space in this edition to encourage every retiree, or state employee soon to retire, to take the time to write a letter to your legislators. Click here for a sample letter. Please use it as a guide to send a message voicing your concerns to your legislators, as we all prepare for the critical issues we will face in the 2009 legislative session.
