To participate in the scholarship program, the state employee must meet all of the following requirements:
- Be a Texas Public Employee Association member.
- Be a state employee for at least two years.
- Be enrolled in a senior or graduate level college or university program. Must be classified as a junior, senior, or graduate student.
- Not be eligible for state agency reimbursement for educational expenses.
- Provide an official degree plan and transcript(s) showing hours completed.
The scholarship will be given to a state employee who strives for educational excellence through senior or graduate level college academia. Grade-point average and financial need also will be considered. The $500 scholarship will be awarded at the TPEA annual meeting in June 2008.
Completed application forms should be accompanied with the applicant's college transcript(s), letter of acceptance from an accredited college or university, and a degree plan.
